So, I checked my Gmail inbox this morning, and the nicest thing just happened…
Marg Stark, author of What No One Tells the Bride, sent me the most lovely e-mail commenting on my Amazon.com review (circa 2001). (In case you're interested, mine is the one listed at the top -- NJ Bookworm. Alas, Amazon doesn't let you permalink.)
In her kind note, she said that she read (and reread) my review many times, as it helped to lift her spirits – especially while she was in the final stages of putting together her new book on motherhood.
Man, the power of technology.
What No One Tells the Bride avoids talk of china patterns and hoopla and instead focuses on the journey from single gal to wife. Through sharing her own experiences and those of 50+ women she interviewed, she offers great tips and dispels rumors.
It’s shower season, so if you’re looking to buy a gift for a blushing bride, do order a copy.
I assure you that it’s a great book written by a talented (and thoughtful!) lady. Strongly recommended.
How funny...reading through all of your reviews, your posts change from the books/items you bought during your single bachelorette pad days to your married life. It's kind of like an unintentional ethnographic history of your life.
